Wall Painting
Painting, the expression of ideas and emotions, with the creation of certain aesthetic qualities, in a two-dimensional visual language. The elements of this language—its shapes, lines, colors, tones, and textures—are used in various ways to produce sensations of volume, space, movement, and light on a flat surface.
Wall painting techniques evolved from cave paintings created with dry earth pigments and they can include a wide range of traditional and modern materials. The paintings may be executed on a variety of substrates, traditionally plaster, stone or timber, but also canvas permanently attached to a structural support. They can be composed of figurative or purely decorative features, free-hand painted or stenciled and frequently incorporate other materials such as metal leaf.
At LISAA school of Design the Foundation Students have come up with beautiful and attractive designs of Wall Painting. These paintings show the talent and the hard work of the Students .
Here is the Experience of Each group student
Group 1
Japan has always played a major influence on art. Many famous artists like Monet, Pollock and Van Gogh have been influenced by Japan. Manga is also a large part of modern life. Pop art is heavily influenced by Manga as well.
Studio Ghibli is a Japanese animation studio in Tokyo. It is well known for majorly influencing the art world and also viewing animated movies in a new light.
Hayou Miyazaki, the animator, does not use 3D animation styles like most animators. He uses a more 2D hand drawn and a somewhat watercolor look to his movies which gives a more artsy feel compared to mainstream movies.The dragon which plays the main part in our art is Haku from Spirited Away. We chose him because we felt he best represented Japanese Mythology and Dragons are powerful yet elegant.
Ghibli movies not only influenced our creative side from a very young age but also influenced us as human beings. So, we decided to incorporate various elements from the ghibli movies and from the japanese culture as a whole.
We also decided to add a couple more Japanese elements unrelated to the ghibli films as Japan has played a major role in the art community
From afar our doodle art represents a Japanese flag .
Group 2
CINEMA WORLD Idea: Our main idea is to create the cinema projector and include the doodles in the rays of projector light. Cinema is a great source of entertainment for humans. That’s why we included all the doodles relating to the cinema and entertainment. Drama is a very ancient form of art so we need to create an illusion of cinema doodles. Theaters being looked upon, in modern times, largely as places of recreation, so we included doodles of popcorn, 3d glasses, reel, etc.
Process: Starting from the background itself, we need to paint the wall yellow. We have to draw the outlines of the projector and rays as per the size of the wall. Then we have to draw outlines of the reel in the corner in diagonal. Next step, we have to proceed to paint the light rays passing through the cinema projector in blue color. Then, we have to start to include all the doodle elements mentioned below.
