Indian Traditional Design
An Indian home focused on traditional timeless design for modern living. In full displaying a wonderful design melange! Tastefully designed by our PGDID1 student NIHARIKA.
The home is designed for an artist wife and an aviator husband living with senior citizens, children and 2 pets a good old joint family. Catering to each one’s design needs was a challenge and to provide spaces to fit well with each one’s functional needs has created a beautiful home.
A touch of Indian Traditional Design from a southern state called Tamil Nadu. It includes vernacular elements like use of Chettinad pillars, red oxide floor with vibrant attungudi tiles to accentuate spaces is prominently seen.
The open courtyard is a familiar feature in most traditional homes here too its an important interior element that brings in lot of natural light into the space.
The dining room spills out into the exterior garden of the house which expands to space and brings inside nature and makes lunch and dinner gathering exciting.
