Professional Counseling at LISAA

What is counseling?

Counseling is a collaborative relationship between you and the therapist focused on helping you navigate through everyday concerns.

How can it help you?

It is a safe space, where your conversations with the therapist are kept confidential. It is a space to explore one’s self, navigate through concerns, learn better coping strategies and hence lead a healthy fulfilling life.

How does it actually work?

Depending on the type of concern (personal, family, relationships, anxiety, depression) the therapist will support you in exploring the cause, the effects and how to manage these concerns.

What can I seek help for?

As humans we encounter a variety of concerns on a day to day basis. From the stress and exhaustion that the workload brings or the difficulties that we face in relation to our families and partners, all of us could use some help in these situations. It might also be that we want to do better and be better by overcoming procrastination, learning communication skills, understanding how to manage our emotions or just be more aware of who we are. Counseling can support you in navigating your way through these concerns.

We are LGBTQIA+ friendly and trauma informed counselors who look at clients from an intersectional lens. Our work is guided by the values of compassion, unconditional positive regard and being genuine.

Batul is a trainee psychologist, who guides her clients through their concerns to obtain clarity. She defines her work as context-driven, and looks at an individual as a ‘whole’ rather than in isolation from their environment. Moreover, she focuses on supporting her clients and empowering them to arrive at their own solutions. When not being amazed by the complexity of human beings, she can be found daydreaming about what her next meal is going to be.
