AI in Fashion and Design (AIFaD) Hackathon

AI in Fashion and Design Hackathon was organized by the French Institute in India & Consulate General of France in Bangalore on April 4th and 5th at the Bangalore International Centre IIIT Bangalore. The 2-day event featured renowned people from the fashion industry and tech who delivered sessions on various topics involving fashion, textile sustainability and artificial intelligence and its impact on creativity and design. On April 2 and 3rd students from LISAA School of Design along with other students from Design, Textile Engineering, Information Technology and Management Schools from India and France worked together to solve the existing problems towards a sustainable fashion and design industry. The conference and Hackathon offered a 360 degree approach of AI in fashion that students could take away from and integrate in their future outcomes.

Final year fashion design student of LISAA School of Design, Shruti Kumar and her team were selected out of 7 other teams for a sponsored trip to Paris by the Embassy of France in India and the French Institute in India to attend the summer school sponsored by Aivancity Paris Cachan. The team members offered a solution to help build a market intelligence platform for artisans, so the artisans can leverage technology and get intelligence on trends, industry forecasts etc.
